The QR Code is dead….

Now you might be thinking that the QR code has just come to its own in the US, but with Google and Apple developing their own ways around it, it only seems like a bridge technology. We all saw what happened to the Flip cam several months ago as Cisco buried that after only a few years on the market.

Here HTC is using the Google Goggles feature included with the Google Search app as a marketing solution in their latest TV ad. It unlocks more content without having to make sure you are snapping the QR code just right.

The product lifecycle is is faster, either innovate or die off.

Just posted about a wonderful documentary but this is a must see

Art & Copy

I am not a creative. I dont have the skill with the tools used in todays industry, however I do consider myself creative. In the ways I problem solve, work with groups, or even handle day to day activities.

I do have much appreciation for the work that all the creatives put out. I know several people attending CU’s ad program that are amazing at what they do, whether it be copyor art direction they are wonderful artists.

This documentary that was released in 2009, Art and Copy, Is a wonderful chronichle of some of the best creative work throughout history. It also looks at advertising from an outside perspective.

Art & Copy

This makes me want to be in advertising for all the right reasons. From Mary Wells to Lee Clow and Dan Wieden it touches on so many wonderful campaigns. Like I said I am not a creative, but I want to be a part of something that is amazing. That is advertising.

This is one of the best and most insightful videos I have watched on the industry of MEDIA ARTS. These two are the titans that have been pioneering the way our words are communicated.

4 Years Older. 4 Years Wiser.

It was a little more than 4 years ago when I found myself thrown out of my parents house and living with a complete stranger in the basement of Cheyho at CU. I was young and excited to become the next Frank Lloyd Wright. Things changed and I wanted to become the next Albert Einstein. Then things changed again and I wanted to save the world from Global warming. Now I find myself wanting to become, well, just the next best thing since sliced bread. Graduating college is opening so many opportunities to move forward and to look back and learn from how I got where I am today.

Defining Moment #1:
